October Opens Oyster Season Along Branford's Shoreline — October (seasonal)

For generations, October has marked the real start of oyster season along the Connecticut shore — one of the months with an "R" when cooler water traditionally made shellfish sweeter and safer to eat. Branford, with its sheltered harbor, tidal river, and broad flats opening onto Long Island Sound, has long been part of that tradition, and the first chilly mornings of mid-October still carry an echo of the working waterfront that once hummed with sloops, tongs, and shucking sheds.

♈ Aries — Mar 21 - Apr 19
That slow-burn frustration you've been carrying has a purpose this week — Saturn in your sign is still teaching patience through delay, but its trine to Mars in Leo turns grind into genuine strategy.
♉ Taurus — Apr 20 - May 20
Desire is loud right now, and not always logical — Venus and Mercury in Scorpio are magnifying everything happening in your closest partnerships, while their squares to Mars and Jupiter in Leo stir up questions about home, pride, and who gets the final word.
♊ Gemini — May 21 - Jun 20
Your mind is in detective mode this week, thanks to Mercury swimming deep in Scorpio — you're spotting what others miss, especially around money, health, and unspoken agreements.
♋ Cancer — Jun 21 - Jul 22
If duty has felt heavier than usual, you're not imagining it — the Capricorn Moon arriving Saturday lands in your relationship zone and squares Saturn in Aries, highlighting where you've been carrying someone else's weight.
♌ Leo — Jul 23 - Aug 22
You're the engine room this week, with Mars and Jupiter both lit up in your sign and trining Saturn in Aries — meaning your boldness finally has architecture under it.
♍ Virgo — Aug 23 - Sep 22
Something you've been quietly researching is close to a breakthrough — Mercury in Scorpio is sharpening your perception in exactly the way you like, methodical and a little obsessive.
♎ Libra — Sep 23 - Oct 22
The Sun is still finishing its tour through your sign and shaking hands with Jupiter in Leo — a genuine window for opportunity, friendship, and the kind of yes that changes your calendar.
♏ Scorpio — Oct 23 - Nov 21
With Venus and Mercury both moving through your sign, you are magnetic, perceptive, and probably being told secrets you didn't ask for.
♐ Sagittarius — Nov 22 - Dec 21
The first half of the week still has that restless Sagittarius Moon buoyancy, but once it slides into Capricorn Saturday, your attention snaps to money and what you actually value.
♑ Capricorn — Dec 22 - Jan 19
Your ruler Saturn is in fall in Aries, which is why home and family matters have felt like one obstacle after another — but its trine to Mars in Leo this week finally gives you traction on a long-postponed project.
♒ Aquarius — Jan 20 - Feb 18
The Moon lands in your sign Tuesday and suddenly you can breathe again — the week before was heavy with Capricorn-coded obligation, and you were running out of patience.
♓ Pisces — Feb 19 - Mar 20
Your intuition is operating at a near-psychic level thanks to Venus and Mercury in fellow water sign Scorpio — trust what you pick up, even when the person in front of you is saying something different.
